I wondered seriously if I was ever going to be able to finish H week!! But it is all good, I would rather we all had fun rather than forcing through things. We all learn better that way!
In Our H Week Book Basket:
Have you ever read Kevin Henkes books? Oh goodness we LOVE his stories. So I filled the bakset with all of his books.
Lilly's Purple Plastic Purse (we need a new copy of this one)
A Weekend with Wendell
Shelia Rae, The Brave
Julius, the Baby of the World (another huge favorite around here)
(all the photos from our hike were taken by my Lily)
HIKING! Is autumn not the perfect time for a nature hike?
We visited a local park that has got to be one of the most beautiful places I have ever been.
We walked along the trails up into the hills, kicking fallen leaves and finding ones bigger than our faces!
We stopped and sat in a gazebo while a creek rushed passed.
We were even blessed to get a close look at some deer that decided to come down to town for the day.
Even if you have to take a drive, find a park that is at least within an hour, that has some great trails and amazing nature. You and your kids will feel like you have entered another world!
H Week Tea:
This week's tea was a little scattered. After our hike, we ate ham sandwiches and had a dinner of mac and cheese with hamburger (had to get that H in there)...
Then we had this delicious cake: Warm Milk and Honey Cake with vanilla ice cream.
It was a huge hit with the kids, and well, everyone!!
Here is Hoping you Have a Happy time celebrating H with your kiddos!
